The luxurious hamam towel Charlotte is a hand-woven, wonderfully soft pestemal. It is ideal as a towel for the beach, sauna and pool and perfect as a hamam towel. It looks great as a pareo or scarf and is guaranteed to attract admiring glances and many inquiries. At home, Charlotte can be used as a bath and shower towel or as a throw on the couch. It becomes softer with every wash, and the cotton fibers become more supple and absorbent with every use.
We source the Charlotte hamam towel from a pestemal manufacturer in Izmir, where it is made on traditional, semi-automatic looms. The warp threads are then knotted by women working from home. This weaving pattern has been used in Turkey for hamam towels for centuries.
