Product information on "Paranoia" from the Bergdolt Reif & Nett winery" from the Palatinate region
The Paranoia from Bergdolt Reif & Nett is an extraordinary Pinot Noir with edges, character, and plenty of temperament. Not a quiet representative of its grape variety, but a strong-charactered red wine that deliberately breaks away from the classic Pinot Noir mold. In the glass, it shows a dense ruby red, unusually intense for this grape variety.
On the nose, an exciting interplay of dark berries unfolds, especially blackberry and blackcurrant, accompanied by finely roasted, spicy notes. Despite being aged in stainless steel tanks, the bouquet appears deep and complex, complemented by hints of licorice and pepper, which give the wine a slightly wild, noble note.
On the palate, the Paranoia surprises with more depth than expected: juicy, hearty fruit meets lively acidity and a clear, structured texture. The tannins are present and give the wine a distinctive, almost untamed energy in the peppery, slightly drying finish. A Pinot Noir with character that takes a stand and deliberately polarizes.
This wine loves strong aromas and intense cuisine – the spicier, the better it develops its temperament.
Wine style: Spicy, lively, structured, characterful, slightly wild.
Pairs with: Chili con Carne, Szechuan cuisine, spicy curries, Tandoori dishes, Sauerbraten, Provençal-spiced lamb, hearty stews.
