Product information on "Pinataro Nero di Troia - Tagaro"
The Pinataro Nero di Troia IGP from Masseria Tagaro is a characterful red wine from Apulia that impressively reflects the expressiveness of this autochthonous grape variety. It comes from the northeast of the province of Bari, from vineyards at 250–300 meters above sea level, where temperature differences between day and night ensure freshness and aroma.
In the glass, the wine shows an intense red with violet reflections, vibrant and clear. On the nose, an intense, fruit-driven bouquet unfolds with red and black berries, accompanied by sweet and spicy notes, reminiscent of spices and ripe fruit. The aroma appears open, warm and typical for Nero di Troia.
Its balance and structure result from careful winemaking: After the destemming of the grapes, cold maceration takes place at 4–5 °C for 18–36 hours to preserve freshness and fruit. Subsequently, the wine is temperature-controlled fermented, gently pressed, and after malolactic fermentation, it is initially aged in stainless steel tanks. A four-month aging in French oak with medium toast gives the Pinataro additional depth and fine spice, without overpowering the fruit.
On the palate, the Nero di Troia presents itself as soft, balanced and persistent, with ripe fruit, well-integrated tannins and a pleasant spiciness. The finish is long, harmonious and slightly jammy, without appearing heavy – a modern, elegant representative of its origin.
Wine style: Fruit-driven, spicy, balanced, soft, elegant.
Pairs with: Beef, Game, Pasta with meat sauces, lamb dishes, lightly aged cheese
