Uli Metzger's Kalkstein Riesling is a wonderful and crisp "every-day" Riesling with a noticeable fruity note. The vines thrive on selected parcels of the Sonnenberg. There, limestone soils primarily give the wine a delicate minerality. In the taste of this great Riesling, we find apricot, green apple, and floral notes. This wine, with an elegant and animating acidity, is exactly how one imagines a good Riesling. It is a good food companion for sushi, fish dishes, but also for vegetarian meals.
